The Raiders have signed Schmitt, the team's official site reports.

Analysis: Schmitt will give the Raiders some fullback depth behind Marcel Reece, but he's not likely to have any fantasy value unless he unexpectedly becomes heavily involved in the team's offense in a pass-catching capacity. Schmitt carried four times and caught just three passes for the Eagles last season, but he did catch 19 passes for 136 yards in 2010.

Barth is planning on attending OTA's and possibly signing a long-term deal soon, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Analysis: The Bucs' franchise designee has not signed his $2.645-million tender nor reached an agreement on a long-term deal yet. Barth set a franchise-record by connecting on 26-of-28 field goal attempts last season (92.9 percent). He is believed to be seeking a long-term deal in excess of $3-million per year. He did not participate in the Bucs voluntary veteran minicamp prior to the NFL draft. Assuming the Bucs lock him up, Barth is a solid fantasy option due to his strong and accurate leg.

Mathews hopes that the first full offseason training program of his career will result in improved production in 2012, the Chargers' Official website reports.

Analysis: As a rookie, Mathews was limited in how much he could do with the team during the early parts of camp by rule, and in his second season, the lockout cancelled all organized team activities, so this will be the first normal offseason of his career. "Being able to be at our facility with our own stuff instead of having to find somewhere to work out, it's just a lot better for us," said Mathews. "It affected a lot of guys (last year)." Mathews had a solid season in 2011 and finished in the top 10 in the NFL in yards from scrimmage after rushing for 1,091 yards and catching 50 passes for another 455 yards, but he is looking to improve this year. "I have big plans for myself this year," Mathews said. "I want to be one of the best running backs in the league."

McFadden (foot) is reportedly looking good as he participates in the Raiders' organized team activities, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. "I thought he looked pretty good," said coach Dennis Allen. "He's out here running around and looks like he's running full speed, so I've been pleased with the way he's looked."

Analysis: Allen also noted that McFadden appears to be working without limitations at this point. Now that he's past the foot issues that slowed him last season, the trick for McFadden will be staying healthy. If he can manage to do that, he's a prime bounce-back candidate this year. If he ends up getting hurt again, then Mike Goodsoon and Taiwan Jones are next in line for carries, with Michaael Bush having deaorted via free agency.

Jags' head coach Mike Mularkey says Mathis (knee) could return to the practice field in June, the team's official site reports.

Analysis: The veteran is expected to vie for a starting spot at cornerback with Aaron Ross. Whoever doesn't earn the job will likely be Jacksonville's nickelback.
